I exchanged it for a replacement and that device gave a sensor error or would shut off during the waiting period. I would not recommend this device the two that I had were faulty. After the first dozen or so uses he decided that he must reduce his intake if he intends to drive home, and he will be relying on designated drivers and/or taxis much more frequently now that he sees the results of the test. It is very slow to get ready and slow to recover after use, and often we get an error message repeatedly. The error messages says to try again. I wish I still had the box. I'd send it back. It definitely won't 'cure' his disease, but it helped keep him accountable and regain my trust in him. Praise GOD he had over a year of sobriety, but has recently had a slip and is struggling again. I know that only prayer and our faith in our Lord will bring him out of this pit, but this is a great tool to help me avoid the feeling of being naive and a way of 'knowing' the truth. My 'husband' doesn't lie to me, but the disease of alcoholism takes over and 'IT' lies to me all the time. Our first unit fell under the couch and got crunched, so I am looking forward to owning another one and praying for the day I WON'T have to use it!!!
